Matt Wagner's Grendel: The follow up to Matt's first Red, White & Black series will feature a sequence I was fortunate enough to be asked to illustrated. Matt allowed me to "spread my wings" so to speak, and let me go a little nuts with the action scenes. I tried to make Grendel look, and move differently then anything I've ever seen before. I made his out fit a little more like the robe of a Shinto priest, with the flowing sleeves and pant legs. I tried to make him look sleek and agile. I also had him use his staff in different ways then I had seen before. I hope it works. I just can't believe the talent Matt has me hanging with. I feel like a freshman who snuck into a senior party.
