Well, now I've seen everything. Not since the plague of venomous sheep have I been so terrified!
Can deer actually bare their teeth?
what I love is - Grant Morrison does this sort of stuff or Alan Moore and it's like the Second Coming. Defenders does it first, best and every month or other month for years- and they get no love or respect from Marvel at all.
Freaking disgrace.
Sigh. That was Steve Gerber, and he was NOTORIOUS and very celebrated for surreal shit like this, and it was completely intentional. (I've noticed a few mocking-comics places where they've posted stuff like this of Gerber's, not realizing it was meant to be funny. Dr. Bong, say)
And it's why he was and is God, so bow down before his greatness. Morrison and Moore WISH they were Gerber--he was there long before they were. Gerber, though, was one of the few back then who got his due.
Gerber was. Gerber is. Gerber ever shall be.
Sad to see him go relatively young at 60/61 when he could have and would have unleashed at least one more jaw-dropping meme on comicbooks had he lived.
